TOURIST SAFARI TRAIN INAUGURATED BY CHAIRMAN SENATE MR SADIQ SANJRANI | GOLRA SHARIF ISLAMABAD PAKISTAN RAILWAYS

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani inaugurated on Sunday a tourist safari train at a ceremony at Islamabad’s Golra Sharif railway station. 

 The safari train will take tourists on a sightseeing trip from the Golra railway station to Attock Khurd every Sunday. Railways Minister Azam Khan Swati was also present at the inauguration ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjrani said the upper house of Parliament will extend full cooperation for the railways’ progress, which he said, is the backbone of the economy. 


 

He stressed that the PR’s development is the need of the hour. Swati said the Pakistan Railways has an important role in the development of the country’s economy. He said the government is committed to developing the railways. “We are also determined to purge the railways of corruption,” he resolved. He said railways also play an important role in the promotion and development of the tourism sector and urged the employees of Pakistan Railways to work with honesty for the development of railways.

Tourists will experience travelling through beautiful landscape of Potohar, consisting of Margallah Hills, Sangjani tunnel and many bridges like Chablal Bridge, Haro Bridge, Ghazi Borotha and Attock Khurd bridges.

The safari train will also pass through the old iron girder bridge on the Indus between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.


 

The inaugural function was held at the Golra railway junction which was constructed in 1882. Pakistan Railways has also constructed a museum at the station.

 


 

 The initiative has been taken according to the vision of the government and Railways Minister Azam Swati. It is aimed at highlighting the historical and cultural beauty of Pakistan across the globe. 

The Safari train, in its first phase, would travel from Rawalpindi to Golra Sharif, Taxila, Attock city to Attock Khurd Station. Keeping in view the importance of tourism and its promotion at the national level, Azam Swati would welcome tourists, sources added. The initiative would not only help railways earn reasonable income but also fetch foreign reserves for the country. Tourist train in Pakistan.
