Pakistan-Iran-Turkey Freight Train Inaugurated on 21st December 2021 at Margalla Railway Station

 

A freight train service was inaugurated on Tuesday, 21st December 2021, with an aim to boost trade among Pakistan,Iran, and Turkey.

Minister for Railways AZAM Khan Swati with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qurashi, and Advisor to the Prime Minister on commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, Inaugurated Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul freight train at Margalla Railway Station. Ambassadors of Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan were also present on the occasion.

The freight train will play a vital role in improving the economies and live of the people of ECO member states by maximizing economic efficiency and reducing cost of the doing business.

Railway Minister AZAM Swati highlighted the importance of ITI freight train and said this train would open the doors for Business and connectivity in the region. "The passenger train service will also be start soon", he said, adding: "We have opened our trade routes and it is a great opportunity for importers and exporters."

I think if Business community took interest in this train it would be a great opportunity for region and particularly for Islamic countries for increasing their economic activities.
