 Duties of Train Drivers in Regard to Signals 1. The Driver must observe and obey all signals, whether the cause of the signal being shown is known to him or not. 2. But, he shall not, however, trust entirely to signals, but must always be vigilant and cautious. 3. When weather is not clear due to fog or any other cause and fixed Signals are not visible from usual distance, the Driver shall reduce speed especially when approaching a station and take every precaution to enable the train to be stopped at a signal if signal is at danger. 4. The Driver before moving his train shall satisfy himself that proper signals are displayed for the movement. 5. The Driver and assistant Driver shall observe the hand signals of the Cabin men , points man and station Master when approaching or passing a cabins or stations.

 چند دن پہلے کی بات ہے میں راولپنڈی سے حویلیاں جا رہا تھا اور شام کا ٹائم تھا راولپنڈی ریلوے اسٹیشن پہ پلیٹ فارم نمبر چار پہ ہزارہ ایکسپریس لگی تھی جبکہ پلیٹ فارم نمبر پانچ پہ حویلیاں سے کراچی جانے والی ٹرین ا رہی تھی. اب چونکہ دونوں پلیٹ فارم پہ ہزارہ ایکسپریس ارہی تھیں تو مسافروں نے پوچھ کر بیٹھ گیا. مسافر نے کسی شخص سے پوچھا کہ کیا یہ ہزارہ ایکسپریس ٹرین ہے تو بتانے والے نے کہا جی بالکل جی ہزارہ ہے. اب اس نے پوچھنا یہ تھا کہ یہ ایکسپریس کہاں جا رہی ہے کیا یہ حویلیاں جا رہی ہے یہ کراچی جا رہی ہے نہ بتانے والے نے بتایا نہ پوچھنے والے نے یہ پوچھا کہ یہ ٹرین جا کس طرف رہی ہے. خیر کراچی سے حویلیاں جانے والی ٹرین راولپنڈی ریلوے اسٹیشن سے اب چل پڑی. جبکہ حویلیاں سے کراچی انے والی ٹرین ابھی تک راولپنڈی اسٹیشن پہ نہیں پہنچی تھی. جیسے ہی ٹرین نے پلیٹ فارم چھوڑا تو دو مسافر ہیں جن کی عمر تقریبا 50 سال سے اوپر تھی میاں بیوی تھے انہوں نے گاڑی سے چھلانگ لگا دی. اب میں ان کو دیکھ رہا اور ان کو بار بار اوازیں لگا رہا ہوں کہ جپ نہ لگاؤ گاڑی رک جاتی ہے گاڑی رک جاتی ہے لیکن انہوں نے کسی کی نہ سنی...

 GANGAPUR TRAMWAY The history of transport is as old as that of man himself. The modern railway is the development of the horse drawn wagon or tramway, used in England in Sixteenth to Eighteenth centuries for the haulage of minerals to rivers or ports. As the roads were bad and wagons had to be guided through tunnels, some one thought of laying down wooden planks for the wheels to run on. The planks wore out quickly and then someone else put iron plates to nail them down to reduce wear. Thus came the first 'plate ways'. The wooden planks and wheels were later replaced with those of iron roads i.e 'rails'. It reduced wear and enabled much heavier loads to be pulled with leaser friction. پشاور کنٹونمنٹ ریلوے اسٹیشن (اکثر مختصراً پشاور کینٹ کے نام سے جانا جاتا ہے) پاکستان کے صوبہ خیبر پختونخواہ کے پشاور کا ایک اہم ریلوے اسٹیشن ہے۔ یہ صدر روڈ پر واقع ہے یہ برطانوی دور میں 125 سال قبل 1898 میں قائم کیا گیا تھا۔ اس میں 3 پلیٹ فارم اور 7 ٹریک ہیں۔ پشاور کینٹ اسٹیشن پہ بکنگ افس بھی موجود ہے, یہاں سے مسافر ٹرین کا ٹکٹ خرید سکتے ہیں اس کے علاوہ پارسل افس بھی موجود ہے جہاں سے اپ اپنا سامان بک کروا سکتے ہیں ڈویژنل سپرٹینڈنٹ پشاور کا دفتر بھی ریلوے اسٹیشن کے ساتھ ہی ہے, الائیڈ بینک کا اے ٹی ایم بھی اسٹیشن پر دستیاب ہے۔ یہاں سے چار ٹرینیں چلتی ہیں۔ جعفر ایکسپریس، عوام ایکسپریس، رحمان بابا ایکسپریس اور خیبر میل دن کی پہلی ٹرین جعفر ایکسپریس صبح سات بجے پشاور کینٹ سے روانہ ہوتی ہے اور یہ پشاور سے کوئٹہ جاتی ہے دوسری ٹرین ہے ہمارے پاس عوام ایکسپریس عوام ایکسپریس دن کو اٹھ بج کر 30 منٹ پہ پشاور کینٹ سے کراچی کے لیے روانہ ہوتی ہے تیسری ٹرین ہے رحمان بابا ایکسپریس یہ جن کو 11 بجے پشاور کینٹ سے روانہ ہوتی ہے اور یہ کراچی کے لیے جاتی ہے نمبر فور پہ ہمارے پاس ٹرین ہے خیبر میل خیبر میل رات ...
